How Yoga Teaches Self-Reliance

Swami Vivekandanda says, ‘We are responsible for what we are and whatever we wish ourselves to be. We have the power to make ourselves.” The very first yoga sutra states, “now begins the study of yoga.” This implies that the student is ready and accepts responsibility for learning. In other words, no one “makes” us do anything. We are accountable. The shift to taking responsibility for our lives is vital in accessing yoga’s power and transforming your life.
