There’s nothing quite like the energy and passion of sports fans, and as a Chicago girl and Cubs fan, I have a deep appreciation for those who stand by their team no matter what. So when I had the opportunity to watch the New York Yankees play, I jumped at the chance. It was like going back in time to a safe America that still exists, even if only in small moments.
As the game progressed, both teams played exceptionally well, and the Rays emerged victorious. But it was the celebration and respect shown to both teams that made the experience even more memorable. After the game, fans spilled out into St. Pete to hang out, enjoy the beautiful 75-degree weather, and grab a beer together.
