I wasn’t supposed to find myself living in Florida but that’s what happened. I was living and teaching in Bali March 2020 and word was the island was going to close for two years. I had to choose whether to stay there or live closer to my Mother in Chicagoland and Brother in Washington DC. That meant returning to live full time in the United States.
I was in a bubble while teaching a sort of “quarantine” a word we are now familiar with, on a secluded beach in Bali. The news of the pandemic was not in front of my mind.
Here is part of my experience returning to the United States at the peak beginning of the worldwide pandemic in an interview I did with the Tampa Bay Times.
