FASHION REPEATER 💥
You’ve seen me in this same dress from Italy to Bali to Costa Rica to Mexico to Florida.
.
💕 I’ve been in love with fashion since I was a little girl drawing my own clothing line and designing my fashion shows. Post undergraduate degree I almost started a Buying program but went towards MSW instead.
.
🔥Fast fashion is killing the planet. 🌏
.
“For the United States: Over 11 million tons of recyclable clothing, shoes, and textiles make their way into landfills each year.”
.
“As Americans, we create an enormous amount of trash. The average person produces about 4.5 pounds per day, and most of it is comprised of recyclable items.” – JULIANA MCDONALD
.
If you compare the amount of garbage that Americans create to the global average of 1.6 pounds per day, we’re on the high end.
.
1,642 pounds per person in America ‼️
6,570 pounds per family in America

.
Here’s some of my story, back from High School days through part of my corporate career I wanted to be known as never wearing the same outfit twice.
.
That was my goal.🎯
.
I would get creative and make everything I had look “new” like I’d never worn it before.
.
I couldn’t afford unlimited fashion so I would figure out ways to upcycle, recycle, refresh, combine things so no one would guess I’d worn it before.
.
Fast forward…fast fashion is literally filling our landfills. 😢
.
And on social media I see so many womxn in this world of influencers put pressure on themselves to not repeat their outfits in photos.
.
We have to support each other to let go of this pressure.
.
How? REPEAT YOUR OUTFITS IN YOUR FEED PROUDLY!
.
And in a year of pandemic where we’ve been home more, can we keep that going where we don’t need to go back to Fast Fashion?✨
.
❤️ Instead we can feel good about repeating our fashion and when we need a refresh do clothing swaps and make our own things last longer?
