This February, I’m taking on the Walk 56 Miles Challenge for the American Heart Association to honor the memory of my father, Enrico Mordini, who passed away from heart disease 30 years ago on February 9th.
This is deeply personal for me. My dad loved walking and hiking—he was happiest in the mountains or surrounded by nature. Together, we trekked across the globe, and his love for walking inspired an active lifestyle in my family. My brother followed this passion and became a cardiologist, dedicating his career to preventing the kind of loss we endured. Today, my 9-year-old nephew Alexander proudly continues the tradition, reminding me that my father’s spirit lives on in all of us.
Walking these 56 miles is my way of reconnecting with his memory, celebrating his legacy, and supporting a cause that works tirelessly to fight heart disease—the No. 1 killer worldwide.
Why the American Heart Association?
For nearly 100 years, the AHA has been a relentless force in the fight against heart disease and stroke, investing over $5 billion in research to save lives.
Their mission is to build a world free of cardiovascular diseases, ensuring longer, healthier lives for everyone.
How You Can Help:
Every step I take this February is for my dad, for families impacted by heart disease, and for a healthier future for us all.
