Rebel Spirit Manifesto

Unleash Your Rebel Spirit: Be FREE, Love Fiercely, and Break All the Rules

Life is too short to live inside a box. It’s time to break free, to love fiercely, to throw out the rules that have been holding you back, and to take a risk. The world tells us to conform, to play it safe, to follow the path already paved. But deep down, you know you’re meant for something more, something wilder, something more authentically YOU.

Say I CAN, Say I WILL, and Respect yourSELF

The first step in embracing your Rebel Spirit is simple: Say I CAN. Say I WILL. Speak these words out loud, and believe them. They are the key to unlocking your potential and stepping into the life you’ve always imagined.

Respect yourself enough to go after your dreams. Respect yourself enough to trust in your own abilities, to acknowledge your worth, and to understand that you are deserving of all the good that life has to offer.

There is No Such Thing as Failure

Let’s get one thing straight: There is no such thing as failure. Please trust this. You can’t really fail at anything. If you step up to bat and miss the ball, it’s not the end of the world. We waste so much time caught up in the dualistic thinking of win or lose, success or failure. But the truth is that every effort produces a result. That result is just information.

As the artist Teitur beautifully says, “All my mistakes have become masterpieces.” Each experience, each so-called “failure,” informs our next choice. So, take that information, act upon it, and try again. This is the essence of growth.

Meditation and Yoga: The Path to Your Rebel Spirit

This is why I’m so passionate about meditation and yoga. Not only because anyone can do it, but because you can’t do it wrong. There is no right or wrong way to meditate or practice yoga. It’s just about showing up, being present, and letting the practice transform you from the inside out.

Coming from a reformed perfectionist, I can tell you that mindfulness practices like meditation and yoga are the antidote to the self-abuse of perfectionism. They inspire a Rebel Spirit within us all by quieting our fears and helping us face the most challenging yoga pose of all: being true to ourselves.

Embracing the Rebel Spirit

To live from our hearts, mindfulness teaches us to face our fears: fear of failure, fear of being happier, fear of not having fear to blame, and fear of being true to ourselves. We must start before we’re ready, in spite of our fear.

You’re probably asking, “How do I engage my Rebel Spirit?” The answer is simple: Lift your heart up and shift your mind down. Give your mind a rest and let your heart take the lead. If we always decide with our minds, we risk talking ourselves out of the best experiences life has to offer. Overthinking leads to procrastination or paralysis. But when we let our heart consciousness take the reins, we become more decisive, more present, more alive.

As the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra beautifully puts it, “Attend the birthing of the radiant light within you.” Yes, it’s scary. Feeling is always more vulnerable than thinking. But making decisions from within is the only way to truly live.

Rumi reminds us, “If you want to find the greatest treasure, don’t look outside, look within, and SEEK THAT.” Sure, we can gather opinions from others, but they are just that—opinions. No one else knows your heart the way you do. So, it’s okay to be afraid. Feel the fear, and do it anyway.

Let the Fire Within Burn Brightly

Bob Marley once said, “We have something they can never take away: It’s the Fire! And No Water can put out this Fire!” So start now. Begin living your life with a Rebel Spirit. As Eugene Ware wisely noted, “All glory comes from daring to begin.”

The key to elevating your life to this level is to stop worrying about the outcome. Be patient, trust that life keeps flowing, and keep going up to bat. Don’t be afraid to dream big, to create new adventures, and to believe that today is the best day ever. As James Dean said, “Dream like you will live forever, live like you might die today.”

Keep Flowing and Keep Growing

Remember this: It is you who must raise your sails—the winds of grace are blowing. (Tagore) Let this be your guiding mantra on the mat and off. Let it inspire you to find your own Rebel Spirit so you can love yourself, love your day, love your life.

As Rainer Maria Rilke wrote, “I want to free what waits within me so that it flows from me like a river, no forcing, no holding back.”

This is your time to let go, to flow, and to live fiercely. All my love,

~Silvia

Hi love, I’m Silvia!

I’m a specialist in starting over.

Trauma revealed truths that took me to some faraway places for healing and wisdom. In Bali, South America, New Zealand, Australia, Laos, Hawaii and Malaysia, I soaked it up, took bold actions, and expanded what was possible for me.

Through all of this I learned something profound; the power of resiliency can be taught and even making a 5% change can change the future dramatically.

Now I teach women like you to access the power within you to change your life, celebrate your genius and start over to create any life you dare to dream.
