I remember the first time I went to Verona with my parents and brother as a little girl of ten years old, a wee bit younger than Juliet who was thirteen years old to visit Casa di Giulietta (Juliet’s house).
.
I was barely double digits and I had already felt love, pain of love, the small heartbreaks that feel so potent at the time. I took my pain seriously even then.
.
And as a intuitive empath, sensitive soul I could feel the story of Romeo and Juliet and although most everything about this house is fiction, the emotions that draw people to it are real. Seeing the letters from people who come to visit asking Juliet for love advice and blessings are a real testament to our human desire to believe in love, and maintain hope to be loved.
.
I never lost that inspiration. I still believe as I did when I was 10 years old that we all want to love and be loved.
.
We all want to be the sun for our beloved.
.
“But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.”
― William Shakespeare, Romeo & Juliet
