For me peace is the manifestation of love. In other words, LOVE is what peace looks like in the light. The shadow is the sometimes ugly work of healing and recovery not many want to talk about. But that’s where Peace is born. And from that the shadow and light are united as #onelove

Don’t let people’s external presence fool you into thinking that the process to get through the healing cycle of hurt, healing, healed was pretty because most often it is not. We bring the light to the shadow and the revealing can be pretty ugly. But in that acceptance of all of ourselves, true unconditional love is spiritually birthed. It was there in gestation, for some of us a very long, lifelong gestation. Once we unite shadow and light we can so easily start to live from love, in love with yourselves, our day, our lives!

Something magical and mystical happens when a group of high-intentioned individuals make the decision to gather together for 200 hours with the purpose of uplifting their lives & expanding their consciousness into radical authenticity. TRANSFORMATION HAPPENS FASTER…Something extraordinary happens while in a yoga teacher training program that breaks the bonds of ordinary awareness and expands the consciousness of each individual to a level that would otherwise would have taken years of ordinary living to attain. This acceleration of evolution is mystical, meaning that the explanation of the change is beyond logic and reason. The term from quantum physics,“quantum leap”, comes to mind. A quantum leap means “a phenomena where an electron orbiting the nucleus of an atom changes its position without having traversed the space between its old and new orbit and without taking any time to do so. My parents, Mama and Papa, inspired my love of movement and travel, saying that I learned to ski before I learned to walk. I stayed active with tennis, swim team, cycling, hiking, running, pom poms, and dance squad. But even with all that activity, travel has been my greatest influence and my first love. My Father, Enrico, was a pure adventurer and my Mother’s parents were serious spiritual seekers and healers. I grew up traveling all over the world with my brother and parents. That I love to show others the beauty of the world through Yoga Workshops and destination Yoga Retreats and @alchemyofyoga #teachertrainings shouldn’t be a surprise, since I was born in Ecuador and my Father is from Northern Italy, and English is my third language. So really my first yoga was travel. I learned how to connect to people and find the union between us. What we all have in common is the ability to laugh, to look for the good in any situation, and to choose love.

With over 11,000 hours of yoga teaching experience I make yoga approachable and inspiring for everyone. My focus is on bringing more fun to yoga with the hope that how we practice our yoga becomes how we live our life. As an Experienced Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) and a lifelong athlete, singer, dancer, poet and adventurer, my style of yoga is Bhakti infused Alignment based Vinyasa flow. Advice Create a Life You Don’t Need a Vacation From

I learned this philosophy first from my Father. His advice was to create a life you don’t need a vacation from. It’s that difference between living to work or working to live.

My dedication to you as a Happiness Coach is to pass on the advice I’ve learned. Today I am sharing 3 ways to create a life you don’t need a vacation from.

I started applying these early in my life and have made heroic changes to allow myself to keep living in this manner. If I can do it so can you.

  1. Be Flexible.

  2. Simplify Your Life.

  3. Get in the Right Frame of Mind (all the time).

FIRST: Be Flexible
Think about the qualities and conditions of the places you like to vacation in regularly. In order to open up the circumstances of living like you’re on vacation you must be flexible enough to move from where you live now. Also learn to be flexible in what you think you “must have” as part of your regular lifestyle. For instance, do you really need 19 choices for Milk (or milk substitutes) when you go grocery shopping? If you’re able to be a bit more flexible then consider moving somewhere that affords you the qualities of a vacation place, if not as many milk options. As far as what you do to make a living, is it possible to be more flexible in “how” or where you do this work? Could you consider telecommuting, or other work options that let you be more open to living in places you love.

SECOND: Simplify Your Life.
Take inventory of what are the “must haves” in your life and lifestyle. Now update your personal monthly, annual budget. Look to see where you’re money goes. You’d be surprised when you look honestly at what your must haves are and where your money goes there are usually places where you could streamline. By that I mean there are a lot of budget items that are “nice to haves” but you don’t need them. Start there in simplifying your life. When you weight out your happiness and whether or not money buys you happiness it will come clear that you don’t need at least a third of what you have. And certainly the aha moments come when you realize the must haves that you love about your life cost little to no money like watching a sunset, being able to live year round in flip flops, going for walks on a beach.

THIRD: Get in the Right Frame of Mind.
What is the greatest difference between our home life and our vacation life is often the way we think. I was married to someone that would become a different person on vacation, I loved that guy, he was easy going, peaceful, relaxed, fun to be with. What’s your day to day attitude towards making the ordinary things more extraordinary? On vacation we will have the mindset of being more open, adventurous, fun loving, active. Why not try living with that same frame of mind at home. Make every day a vacation by changing your attitude towards it. Instead of going to the same places over and over, get curious and drive a new way, walk more, get on a bike and explore, go somewhere new that’s nearby. Live and be led by the way you think on vacation and notice everything lights up around you.

The dance of Lila Tandava is a cultivation which includes curiosity, participation and witnessing. A spiritually guided process of unfolding ourselves into richer layers of beingness and becoming. A process that allows us to become more embodied, more full of our own inner fire, joy and self expression. If you’re not doing something every day that brings you a sense of play, ask yourself, Why not? Enjoying pleasure is important to your mental and physical health. You can’t be truly happy without pleasure. It’s the catalyst for a series of biochemical reactions in your brain and body. Primarily, it is the release of the #love hormone, #oxytocin that brings radiance, fluidity, positivity, and an underlying sense of well being.
This isn’t a luxury. This is the important stuff.

3 Ways to Be Happy – Happiness Prescriptions

Seeking Happiness by Silvia Mordini

Happiness is a continuous state of quiet joy that exists in the moment from the inside out. Happiness is what love looks like. It is the manifestation of what it means to love ourselves, love our day, love our lives.

“Contentment is about falling in love with your life.” – Swami Rama

As seekers of happiness it is important to understand how much of it depends on internal versus external factors. Based on her research, in her 2007 book The How of Happiness, positive psychology researcher Sonja Lyubomirsky concluded that roughly 50 percent of happiness is determined by our genes and 10 percent by our life circumstance, but 40 percent depends on our daily activities.

This 50% is what is commonly known as our Happiness Set Point. The great news is that we have the power to influence 40% of our happiness.

You can seek daily activities that inspire enthusiasm. This is why Yoga Festivals like Sedona Yoga Festival or Bali Spirit Festival are a Happiness Reset. For four days you choose exactly those events that you are most passionate about such as going on a hike, taking a Handstand Workshop, Yoga Nidra, Kundalini Yoga or kicking back listening to amazing musicians share what they love.

The yogic philosophy of Santosha, often translated to mean contentment, is about living into your choices and within those happenings loving what life is offering us moment to moment. Finding the peaceful joy that is our natural state is the return to self that a weekend at a yoga festival brings about.

1. Take Responsibility

How to be Happy starts with taking responsibility for the quality of your life. When we are willing to accept accountability, it gets easier to authentically describe what we want our happiest life to feel like. From there, the whole world opens up!

“Happy people avoid blame in all its incarnations. They don’t blame other people, they don’t blame circumstances, and they don’t blame themselves. To happy people, blame serves no purpose. It doesn’t ever get us what we truly desire. In fact happy people not only avoid blame but they also avoid its family members envy, greed and jealousy – which are among the key indicators of unhappiness.” -The Choices Happy People Make

2. Choose Now

The act of waiting for happiness to be happy, or “happiness procrastination” as I refer to it, can be paralyzing. If we have a prerequisite of a certain condition taking place to facilitate happiness then we’ll always be waiting as opposed to being happy in the moment. If we fool ourselves into believing that we have to understand the reasons why we’re unhappy, the result will be getting stuck in that state of unhappiness. Instead choose those activities that spark joy, stop over intellectualizing your choices and live in the present.

What’s so important about being in the moment? Spiritual practice teaches us that the present moment is the source of healing, love, inspiration, and happiness. In fact, the purest form of happiness is found in the present moment. The yogis call this power of presence shakti. But to reap these benefits, we can’t just have fleeting moments of presence. We have to stay long enough in the present moment to really soak in the happiness.

Apply this Happiness Rx (Prescription):
• Each day take time away from your electronics and have a face-to-face conversation (instead of Face-to-book)
• Each week take one Media Detox day without technology (tv, laptop, cell phones, ect)
• Each month plan a nature trip whether it’s hiking in the mountains or walking the beach.
• Take a long weekend each year to attend a Wanderlust Festival for a happiness reset.
• Each year go on retreat where you can unplug from your business life for a week.
• At the end of the year, take a business “savasana” where you celebrate all that you attempted and accomplished and find pleasure in resting in that knowledge.

3. Stoke Your Passion!

Happiness is a direct experience of enthusiasm. Remember, it is not how or when we accomplish something that matters most, it is the sense of enthusiasm during the process that demonstrates our quality of life. Enthusiasm gives us the chance to go beyond our happiness set point. The foundational teachings of yoga tell us that joy is our birthright. That doesn’t mean it comes easy: It takes real effort. However, this exertion is well worth it and we should never let a day go by without putting forth our best effort to live with passion.

Practice this Mantra: I love myself, I love my day, I love my life!
