Please Don’t Wait

What I want you to know is…

Don’t Wait.

I’ve waited too long for most things.

It’s ok on some levels like where I was a late bloomer.

But I’m talking about waiting until everything was perfect or
waiting for the right time,
waiting for him to show up,
waiting to say I love you,
waiting for him to be ready,
waiting for the right age,
waiting for enough money,
waiting to have a baby,
waiting for a sign,
waiting until I wasn’t so busy,
waiting until I gained confidence or
waiting until I lost five pounds,
waiting until I received approval,
waiting until they said I could,
waiting until there was time,
waiting until my marriage got better,
waiting for my birthday,
waiting until Spring Break,
waiting until Summer,
waiting to move away from snowy Winters,
waiting to travel somewhere I’d never been like Australia or Greece or New Zealand,
waiting until I got that big break,
waiting for the tipping point,
waiting for others to go first,
waiting for the weather,
waiting until I knew enough people,
waiting to take a chance on love,
waiting until I had proof it would all work out,
waiting until I had enough knowledge,
waiting until I knew enough, was accomplished enough, was successful enough, or
waiting until it would be easy.

What are you waiting for?

“Twenty Years From Now You Will Be More Disappointed By The Things You Didn’t Do Than By The Ones You Did Do.” -Mark Twain

What I learned is that time will run out. People don’t really talk much about this anymore it seems. But the reality is that “right timing” is vitally important. We can’t just lead energy we must follow it too, and be awake enough to tell when to choose one over the other. I have run out in certain ways and my hope is that I can save you from doing the same thing.

The biggest regrets in my life relate to waiting. I waited for my marriage to get better. It was incredibly toxic and denied my chances to have a baby for all those years. I waited until I met the right guy to have a family when I could have looked at doing it on my own. I waited to move from snowy winters because I was afraid of disappointing my family. I waited to travel to Australia and New Zealand until last year.

Right now is the time to wake-up and choose how you want to live your life. At any time you have full access to what I call a Passion Passport. There is no lengthy application process or special visa you have to apply for. There is no waiting period.

It’s yours right now.

Let’s get started.

You can come along with me for the ride. You can even sit next to me in the front seat.

But you have to promise you will get out at the right stop for you to continue your own journey guided by your true north. Admire my life, be inspired by it even, but stay focused on filling your own passport.

Well buckle up, it’s going to be an incredible journey where we will meet amazing people and experience incredible beauty and slay dragons and get lost and get found. Expect tears and laughter to be shared. You’ll be left wondering and delighted and face fears you didn’t know you had.

But you’ll feel more alive than ever because each day is sparked with joy. Don’t wait.

Let my life be both a warning and an example.

Start before you’re ready, right here, right now.

And today, please tell the people you care about you LOVE them. For this we must never ever wait.

Love yourself, love your day, love your life,

It Started from Love

Alchemy Tours, it started from love, it’s been steeped in love for almost 10 years, and the inspiration sparked me to name myself a Love Alchemist.
.
I wanted to inspire people to stop treating this life like a dress rehearsal and never ever forget that even if you are living a good life, you could be living a GREAT life!
.
The takeaway from each lovingly curated #yogaretreat was SELF-LOVE. That is the key lesson. The rest was a relearning of FUN and PLAY in order to remember to remember.
.
“Learning to love yourself is like learning to walk—essential, life-changing, and the only way to stand tall.” – Vironika Tugaleva
,
I also 108% believe that people are over tired. We need to unlearn being so “busy” and take it easy to be pampered, loved up, made to laugh, and have a time-out to reset. As my hero Anne Lomott says, “Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.”

My Call to You! I have 2 retreats left.

My love intention for @AlchemyTours was to spend time with a total of 50 beautiful humans in 2018.

Bali April 22-29 holding space for 13 guests
Amalfi June 10-17 holding space for 18 guests
Tuscany June 24-30 holding space for 19 guests.
.
That’s it. I want to go on one last Soul Plunge with 50 of my hear tribe past, present and future soul friends.
If you want to step into taking time to do what makes your soul happy this Spring and Summer please reach out to me.

For this is it.

This is not a rehearsal.

Why I Felt Ashamed of Being in Love with Love

“I am in love with love
and love is in love with me.”
-Rumi

Even my elementary school friends new this to be true about me. Even earlier, I’m certain my Ecuadorian Grandmother knew this. She was from the angel realm and deeply connected to spirit. She saw my essence was as a #Bhakti Yogi, way before I knew what that was. ❤️
This month I’ve been at my Mom’s house going thru boxes of school girl treasures including old diaries. I also found my drawings and paintings all inspired by #love. My girlhood days were spent in love with love. I wrote about love, thought about love, drew what love felt like, played piano like love, danced with love and smiled to send love to the sun.

In some way I recall each day completely absorbed in making love my world. This sounds just like meditation which is first described in the Yoga Sutras by Pantanjali in chapter 1 verse 2 as “yoga happens when your mind becomes quiet.” That was the way I would describe the impact love had on me in those days and now. In the eight limbed path of yoga focusing away from the distractions of too many pulls of energy is pratayhara, meditation known as dhyana in sanskrit is the 6th limb, the 7th limb is dharana ‘the art of concentration” and finally enlightenment, bliss state is samadhi.

Samadhi means ecstasy. Yes, for certain I’ve felt these altered moments of bliss when in love with love, experiencing it, receiving it, offering it, surrounding myself with it. All four of these aspects of the eight limbed path of yoga can be considered “meditation.”

At some point I remember starting to feel embarrassed for Loving love and my devotion became more secretive. Somehow I thought it wasn’t “normal” to pray about love so much. Focusing my time and energy on love I heard through societal messaging wasn’t serious or important enough. I was shamed by other comments that it was a “girl thing” as if being engaged with the sacred feminine was a negative.
.
❤️ My #meditation and #yoga practice freed me up from the shame I carried feeling afraid that I loved love too much. I learned an entire philosophy around love and was able to intellectually prove its value.
.
It was by meditating (same thing I did as a girl, concentrating daily and holding attention to a single source) that I purposely devoted my life life to the #dharma of love.
.
This is why I define myself as a LOVE #Alchemist.
.
We can all use more time mediating about love in all ways: self-love, universal love, soulmate love.

I am Not Afraid of the Dark

I am not afraid of the dark and neither should you be. I am your loving guide into Shadow work in a gentle way. At your own pace. I am honored that you trust me this way. I love you!

“Personal discovery and growth come from letting there be room for all this to happen: room for grief, for relief, for misery, for joy.

Suffering comes from wishing things were different. Misery is self-inflicted, when we are expecting the “idea” to overcome the “actual,” or needing things (or people, or places) to be different for us so we can then be happy.

Let the hard things in life break you. Let them effect you. Let them change you. Let those hard moments inform you. Let this pain be your teacher. The experiences of your life are trying to tell you something about yourself. Don’t cop out on that. Don’t run away and hide under your covers. What will you learn if you face it with courage? With full honesty and – lean into it.” #pemachodran

Heart Medicine for your Soul Amalfi Yoga Retreat

Elements as Heart Medicine: Itinerary for #Amalfi #YogaRetreat June 10-17, 2017
.
Ancient Alchemists, like their Yogi counterparts, saw all of creation as composed of Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space. Through their meditations and explorations of these five elements, they created healing and transformative potions that unlocked many of the mysteries of the universe and therein contributed to the evolution of humankind. For us as Alchemist Yogis, our laboratory is our mat and the ingredients are our bodies, poses, breath, and thoughts. Mixing it all together changes your life. You are transformed! Join us to experience the #Alchemy of Amalfi where our Hearts & Souls will focus on:
.
EARTH: To manifest our desires we must have strong roots within ourselves. (Day 1 and 2)
.
WATER: We tap into our limitless potential to create our dreams and desires. (Day 3 and 4)
.
FIRE: We ignite the fire of our burning desires and dreams through action. (Day 5)
.
AIR: Our inner wisdom becomes available to us when we open the heart and surrender to love, gently releasing what is no longer in alignment with our hearts. (Day 6)
.
ETHER: Communicating to the universe our wisdom learned from the heart with clarity and truth. To open the heart and surrender to love we must have a strong knowing of our truth. We surrender to the guidance of our inner wisdom and know that all the answers we seek lie within us. We become the embodiment of the Divine, a unique expression of consciousness, dwelling in our natural alchemy of love and peace. (Day 7-8)

Butterfly Medicine Finding Joy

I was asked on the radio program Santa Cruz Socialites about my favorite animal. For me it is always the #butterfly and has been since I as a little girl. I have had countless experiences where they serve me reminders.

Butterfly Symbolism: This animal totem is primarily associated with symbolism of change and transformation.
-Powerful transformation, metamorphosis in your life, personality
-Moving through different life cycles
-Renewal, rebirth
-Lightness of being, playfulness
-Elevation from earthly matters, tuning into emotional or spiritual
-The world of the soul, the psyche

A secondary meaning of the butterfly is about finding joy in life and lightness of being

*******
What I remember about a particular life changing moment was in #Bali. I was working ever more deeply with a local #Shaman to help remove resistant layers to revealing my truest heart. We were at a 8 hour ceremony that started by driving to the holy mountain. Upon arriving we were welcomed at the ashram like atmosphere with tea and meditation in the yoga shala. After receiving instructions and changing out of our clothes, putting on our sarongs and nothing else we prepared to depart. There are no photos except for 1 from the beginning of the hike as we had to leave behind our technology.

We made our way that day to the river to drink from 7 waterfalls in the the river and in the pools found in the Balinese rice fields. Each step was a beautiful ritual to help release our obstacles to joy. It was a purification ceremony unlike any I’ve ever participated in before. To this day it was the hardest ritual I’ve ever done.

I could feel the old layers falling away that I had hidden even from themselves.

I remember at one waterfall holding a straw basket above my head filled with flowers to throw into the river as gratitude, “what pain did I have that I wanted to have washed away.” I replied to myself that I had none. I’ve done the work for years and years.

Then as I was standing there, the first one to go as we go by age and I was the eldest in the group of 7 of us, it finally came to me. I did have pain. I tapped into the pain from losing my Father, Papa, at the age of 25 years old. I had intellectualized the pain, I had addressed much of it, but not all of it.

So it was still there, as unfinished business waiting to be released so I could be transformed fully.

Without this purification ceremony I don’t think I would have completed my metamorphosis into the next stage of my life. To be honest I had held back some of this pain for 10 years because I didn’t want to be done with it. I someone thought completing this life cycle would make me forget my Father.

And in fact it was only going through his transformation that I can now more fully remember more about Papa.

This was a #rebirth for me that day in the rivers and rice fields.

I promised myself, God, the healer that with this life I would truly make the most of it. I would love myself, love my day, and love my life!

Magical Sisterhood

“Whenever we fail to care for our brothers and sisters, the way is opened to destruction, and hearts are hardened …. Spirit, grant that all who have positions of responsibility in economic, political and social life, and all men and women of goodwill – grant that we all be “protectors” of creation, protectors of God’s plan inscribed in nature, protectors of one another and of the environment.”
– based on a plea from Pope Francis

I 108% love the women in this photo. These siSTARS are changing the world through their healing magic of love and peace.

They love the earth.
They demonstrate this love in how they eat.

They love and care for other sisters in how protective they are towards all in sisterhood.

They love Spirit.
They honor the ways to walk in beauty and peace available in ordinary spiritual life.

How the World You Create is Reflected Back to You

It’s all Alchemy!
“Ancient alchemists, like their Yogi counterparts, saw all of creation as composed of earth, air, fire, water, and space.

Each and every one of us is an #alchemist. Our laboratory is our brain. We concoct our potions and elixirs based upon our thoughts. These chemicals then course through our neurological systems and spread into our organs, muscles, bones and tissues. Depending upon the quality of our thoughts and our level of consciousness, we are either creating black magic that will only cause us pain, or we are creating miracle potions that can help us lead the lives we have always desired.

For instance, a chronically agitated, fearful and angry person creates too much adrenaline and cortisol, the primary chemicals associated with our instinctive fight-or-flight response. Our fast-paced, stressed-out culture contributes to this alchemy and such a person finds themselves in increasingly toxic life situations. This pattern often leads to lowered immune function, mental or physical ailments, and ultimately serious disease.

The thoughts of a more positive alchemist create serotonin and interleukins. These chemicals boost the immune function, relax our adrenals, and promote healing. This pattern leads to a happier life in which greater health, greater achievements, and greater experiences seem to go hand-in-hand.

Simply put, as we all have heard, “You are what you think.” The hypochondriac becomes sick. The person who thinks negatively creates a reality in which things always seem to go wrong. Those who believe they cannot accomplish something have already seeded their own defeat. On the other hand, the positive person who takes a sugar pill in a blind test of a new medicine may actually experience benefits far beyond what the real drug has to offer. Those who are convinced of their potential are likely to realize it no matter what obstacles arise. Those who see the world filled with light and love often have this reflected back to them as their reality.”

How to Invoke Sacred Space

I’m often asked about what words I say when I call to the #fourdirections to open or close sacred space. Here is one version of Invocation and thru the years of internal study as well as learning from my Shamanism teachers I speak my own voice too.

To the winds of the South
Thank you for the healing light you bring to us
For helping us to shed the deadness of our past the way a snake sheds skin, all at once
Thank you for teaching us the Beauty Way.

To the winds of the West
Mother Sister Jaguar
Thank you for protecting our medicine space
We embrace your wisdom of teaching us the ways
of peace, impeccability, and equanimity.

To the winds of the North
Hummingbird, dear Grandmothers and Grandfathers, Ancient Ones
Thank you for sharing this space with us
We listen for your whispers to us in the wind and to the sacred space within our hearts
Guide us with your grace.

To the winds of the East
Great Eagle, Condor
Thank you for taking us upon your wings to our highest path of destiny
Thank you for Showing us the holy mountains and reminding us to envision our lives from this place.

Mother Earth
Pachamama
We give you thanks, as one of your children, for holding us so sweetly in your womb of love and life as we heal all of our stories, our shadows, our fears.

Father Sun, Grandmother Moon
Star Nations – Star Brothers and Sisters
Great Spirit
You who are known by a thousand names
The unnamable, the nameless one
You who are unknown, yet not unknowable
Thank you for bringing us together
And allowing us to sing the song of Life, one more day.
