This breathing exercise is designed to engage both sides of your brain to help you focus and calm your mind. Your brain has an evolutionarily fascinating function where the right side controls the left side of the body, and left side controls the right side of the body. You will be guided to focus on your breath moving from each corner of your smile as a way to integrate your brain completely. This exercise is an adaptation of the traditional ‘nhadi shodhna’ or ‘alternative nostril breathing’ practice, which has been used for centuries to generate feelings of mental balance and peace.
