Why your happiness depends on your Self-Worth

Having a belief in your own self-worth is essential to your happiness. When you don’t believe in yourself, it can lead to a lack of confidence and a feeling of worthlessness. This can manifest itself in feeling insecure, being overly critical of yourself, and being overwhelmed by negative emotions. In contrast, when you have a strong sense of self-worth you can feel capable, resilient and empowered. You know your worth and you are able to take ownership of your life, joys and challenges alike.

The importance of believing in your self-worth cannot be overstated. When you have this sense of self-worth, it enables you to be able to make choices that benefit you. You are able to recognize the right choices for you, rather than feeling helpless and unable to take control over your own life. Having a positive self-image plays an integral role in leading a happy and fulfilling life.

The good news is that anyone can develop self-worth. It takes practice and it is an ongoing process, but when you make the effort to acknowledge your strengths and weaknesses, you can start to cultivate an unlabeling relationship with yourself that allows for growth and self acceptance. Here are several steps that you can take to improve your self-worth:

• Identify any beliefs that contribute to feeling unworthy of yourself – Do you have any negative beliefs or opinions about yourself? You can start by taking an inventory of any negative thoughts that come up when you think about yourself.

• Identify what kind of person you would like to be – While it’s important to recognize and address any negative beliefs, it’s also important to focus on what kind of person you want to be. Start by writing down three positive qualities you want to cultivate in yourself.

• Challenge any negative thoughts – When you notice any negative thoughts coming up, take the time to challenge them. This can be done by writing down the thought, looking at it objectively and identifying any evidence that contradicts the thought.

• Practice positive affirmations – Positive affirmations are a great way to remind yourself of the positive traits that you possess. Take the time to think of some affirmations that resonate with you and repeat them to yourself throughout the day.

• Spend time with supportive people – It’s important to surround yourself with people who appreciate and support you. Their words and actions can provide you with a boost in confidence when it’s needed.

Believing in your self worth can lead to greater happiness and joy in life. The key is to focus on your strengths, challenge any negative thoughts, and practice positive affirmations. With dedication and practice, you can develop a strong sense of self-worth that will allow you to embrace the changes and challenges life throws your way.

Hi love, I’m Silvia!

I’m a specialist in starting over.

Trauma revealed truths that took me to some faraway places for healing and wisdom. In Bali, South America, New Zealand, Australia, Laos, Hawaii and Malaysia, I soaked it up, took bold actions, and expanded what was possible for me.

Through all of this I learned something profound; the power of resiliency can be taught and even making a 5% change can change the future dramatically.

Now I teach women like you to access the power within you to change your life, celebrate your genius and start over to create any life you dare to dream.
