Blog: Loving Your Day

Slow Down

Ask yourself, what would taking really good care of myself look like today?
.
#HappinessRx: Your soul talks to you every day, but if you’re too busy, you can’t hear what it’s trying to say.

Listen closely and try these 5 tips to love your life more.
1. Slow down.
2. Practice taking 5 deep breaths right now.
3. Hold a glass of water in both your hands until the water becomes perfectly still. Then drink the water imagining it’s filling your body with stillness and peace.
4. Practice savasana. Only savasana as your yoga today.
5. Meditate on love. Saying to yourself slowly “I love myself, I am love, I am loved.”
.
Instead of choosing with your mind, try SOULECTING select with your soul.
Your soul always has you on easy speed. It wants you to be present and live #mindfullyinlove 💕

It’s easy to ignore the signs of going too fast. The sleeplessness can be pushed aside, at least for a while. The increasing anxiety remedied by numbing out or ignoring it seems to work for bit, until it doesn’t. The aches and pains, waking up and feeling worried already. These are no normal ways to experience life. These are your body’s way of saying SLOW DOWN. All we have to do is pay attention.

Get off the treadmill and get back on the natural pace of life. Relearn how to relax and just be with what is happening around you without needing it to go faster. You’ll find out it’s the remedy to love yourself, love your day and love your life!

HAIR STORY PART 2

HAIR STORY – HER STORY PART 2
By Silvia Mordini
More about my hair.
I love long hair and always will.
Last year at this time I cut 11 inches off.
I’ve been growing it out the second the hair dropped to the ground. But I had to do it. It was part of my shedding old pain and an old life.
.
I had done the work but was literally carrying around the storylines of how my life was supposed to be and I couldn’t get out from under the weight.
.
So I cut off my hair.
.
Can you see now how it’s growing? 😊
.
It’s not as long as I want it and I haven’t fully lived into my new life, but it’s progress none the less. And I’m really proud of that. 🙏
.
It’s not easier for me than someone else because I’m a #spiritual #teacher of #love #peace and #mindfulness. It’s still challenging! Recovery from near death, going blind, being in four hospitals and then heart break this last 3-4 years has been the hardest time of my life.
.
But it was necessary for my soul to grow and be now ready to meet my #soulmate ❤️ He’s almost here, I can feel it.
.
And in the meantime my hair will keep growing as long as a #mermaid😍“Darwin may have been quite correct in his theory that man descended from the apes of the forest, but surely woman rose from the frothy sea, as resplendent as Aphrodite on her scalloped chariot.”
#MargotDatz, A Survival Guide for Landlocked Mermaids

I love you!

STOP PUSHING AND PULLING

STOP PUSHING AND PULLING
by Silvia Mordini

Wishing you a day of effortless effort where you are not feeling pulled or pushed. And a day where you aren’t the one doing the pushing or pulling. I know from experience every time you push your partner, he or she will pull back and when we try to pull at them to stay longer they will then push away. It’s the win-lose scenario of dualism. Imagine how strong a person has to be that when you push them they don’t react to your pushing. All while at the same time they are careful not to overcompensate for the initial push in order to maintain balance. Whew! That’s not fun.

But when we follow the lead of our breath and stop pushing and pulling at the people in our lives it all makes for living an easeful life. On the mat we practice recognizing energies of Pushing and Pulling, Dvesa and Raga, so we can live better off the mat. Take to heart the words of Judith Lasater who writes, “in life we are pulled between trying to get what you want and trying to avoid what you don’t want. Pulling and Pushing away both limit our freedom.” What is freedom? To me is about learning to be happy with what life is offering you (reducing the extremes of pushing and pulling). It’s so simple.
.
⭐️This concept is from the Yoga Sutras:

Yoga Sutras Chapter 2, Verse 7
Excessive fondness for pleasant experiences causes longing. Attachment (Raga) which is PULLING
.
Yoga Sutras Chapter 2, Verse 8
Excessive avoidance of unpleasant experiences causes contempt. Aversion (Dvesa) which is PUSHING
.
On and off the mat we can be aware of what we are thinking:
1. Where are your thoughts PUSH energy? Push thoughts are things like “I don’t want to hold this pose, I don’t want to try this new or difficult variation”
.
2. Where are your thoughts PULL energy? Pull thoughts might be things like “I need another Sun Salutation,” “I have to do 35 vinyasas per class no matter what,”
.
When we aren’t pushing away positive change or pulling at it either, we remain on easy speed and life becomes a Win-Win. Try it and see!
.
Love yourself, love your day, love your life! Silvia

Do Something Now

Do Something By Silvia Mordini

“People of accomplishment rarely

sat back and let things happen to them.

They went out and happened to things.”

~ Leonardo da Vinci

The question is should you do a yoga teacher training? Is now the right time? Are you ready? Just by asking the question means you are ready. Don’t let the worry of doing it or not doing it steal all your energy. Otherwise while you’re waiting life will just pass on by and another year will be passed. Face your stories and choose to create a new story RIGHT NOW.

“Action is about living fully. Inaction is the way that we deny life. You can have many great ideas in your head, but what makes the difference is the action. Without action upon an idea, there will be no manifestation, no results, and no reward.”

That pretty much sums up our @alchemyofyoga philosophy!

DO SOMETHING NOW

If you wait until you are “ready” and things are “perfect” you will get stuck in the inertia of inaction. Get started in taking small steps towards your intentions within the next 24 hours.  Do not let self-doubt cripple you into statis. And know that once you’ve begun then keep acting on your goals a little at a time. The smallest efforts keep the momentum going and create powerful change. As they say in South America, “little by little one travels far.”

DON’T GIVE UP

Part of our humanness is our ability to be really hard on ourselves especially when things don’t go the way we had envisioned. When you meet yourself on the path you’ll quickly learn that acting on things doesn’t always yield the results you expected. That is no reason to stop. Instead amp up your efforts to keep doing something. Like the Lotus Blossom which rises up from the mud of the swamp through murky waters, moving free into the air and up towards the sun pristine and white don’t stop sticking to your vision. As Florence Scovel Shinn writes, “Every great work, every big accomplishment, has been brought into manifestation through holding to the vision, and often just before the big achievement, comes apparent failure and discouragement.”  Therefore let us be as firm and resolute as the Lotus Blossom, in manifesting the most joy-filled, peaceful and healthful life we can envision.

BE GRATEFUL

I also learned from my parents to practice gratitude with enthusiasm every day. Through the doing of life and manifesting joy it is important to maintain your motivation by sharing your gratitude for your attempts as well as your achievements. A positive attitude may get you started in doing something but what keeps it sustainable is appreciation for those that play into your success.

My yoga practice reminds me of all three of these aspects of living an inspired life. I get on my mat each day and “do something”, I do not give up my practice when life is inconvenient, and I certainly give thanks to all who made it possible for me to move, breath and celebrate my joy at being alive in this moment! And in turn this stokes my rebel spirit to go out and happen to things.

If you feel the call to take a deep soul dive dedicated to yourSELF then DO SOMETHING. Sign up today.

See you on the mat in #Bali or #CostaRica 2019!

Love yourself, love your day, love your life! Silvia

EFFORT

EFFORT
I share this #truth in class often, the person who makes it look the easiest has fallen the most.
Never forget real life versus a photo on social media is messy and full of effort and falling.
.
“Life’s efforts also bring failures. But it is not about how to avoid those things. It is about how you handle them in a way that helps you to preserve your self-esteem and move forward when they happen.
.
Because if you want to go outside of your comfort zone, if you want to do things that really matter then you will stumble, you will fail from time to time. It is normal.” -Henrik, Positivity Blog
.
It took me years of effort and showing up on my mat to create this shape. Let me repeat that part, it took my YEARS. I would try and try and nothing would happen until one day all the steps towards flying came together. And now I still have to keep practicing this pose or it goes away. It’s a flying hip opener that requires core integrity and upper body strength along with wrist flexibility.
.
❤️Yoga is a practice of millimeters. ❤️
Achievement can look invisible.
Make the effort anyway.
.
But if it’s worth it to you, then stay the course.
.

STOP

STOP
And listen.
That’s what I’ve been doing to try to hear what Spirit wants me to teach around the world in 2019. I’ve been mostly in #silence this past week invested in #stillness and deep listening. I’m surrendering as a conduit of love to be Love, share Love, Teach Love.
.
What’s come through thus far is this.
.
❤️ If I can teach anything I’d teach:
Love. Happiness. Healing. Peace.
.
Through Meditation. Tribe. Trust. Authenticity.
.
I’m digging deep for the drishti of my heart in what this 2019 Tour will be called and my exact programs contained within. I’m feeling this arise:
